Athens Summer School 2019: Moving the EU Forward after the European Parliament Elections

The Institute of European Integration and Policy of the Department of Political Science and Public Administration (National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece) and the Europe Direct hosted at the Hellenic Foundation for European and Foreign Policy (ELIAMEP) organized the Athens Summer School 2019 from 1 to 6 July 2019.

The Athens Summer School is an intensive interdisciplinary 6-day course, that provides comprehensive knowledge on policy issues and key challenges that Europe faces in the post-crisis era.

The lectures this year were given by distinguished academics and recognized researchers with a thorough academic background and political perception on EU politics and policies. The lectureres were the following: Loukas Tsoukalis, Ruby Gropas, Filippa Chatzistavrou, Susannah Verney, Andreas Papandreou, Emmanuella Doussis,  Aristides Hatzis, Spyros Blavoukos, George Pagoulatos and Harry Platanakis.

PROGRAMME

This year the participants also had the opportunity to attend the opening event of the Finnish Presidency of the Council of the European Union in Athens.

Students from Austria, Belgium, France, Greece, Malta, Poland, Spain, and the United Kingdom attended the Athens Summer School 2019!
