Dr George Dikaios is a Research Fellow at the Institute of European Integration and Policy and a Senior Research Fellow of the UNESCO Chair on Climate Diplomacy. He is a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Political Science and Public Administration of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA), where he co-teaches the undergraduate course "Climate Diplomacy". He is also a Research Fellow at ELIAMEP and Scientific Associate of the Climate Change Hub. He studied political science at NKUA (Greece) and Leiden University (Netherlands). His doctoral research analyzes the making of European climate diplomacy and the latter’s influence on other international organizations. His research interests revolve around European policies for combating climate change and (seaborn) transport, as well as diplomatic practices which impact the governance of the above. He has received for his research scholarships and grants from NKUA, A. G. Leventis Foundation and (twice) the Ryoichi Sasakawa Young Leaders Fellowship Fund (SYLLF) in Japan. He is a member of several scientific associations (UACES, ISA, GPSG etc), often participates in international conferences and his articles have been published in Greek and international academic journals. During spring semester 2022-2023, he was an adjunct lecturer at the Department of Ports Management and Shipping (NKUA).
