The Institute of European Integration and Policy is an independent, non-profit research and educational institution. It was founded in 2002 under the auspices of the Department of Political Science and Public Administration of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
Its main mission is to cover the teaching and research needs of the Department of Political Science and Public Administration in the fields of European integration and politics, to initiate teaching activites, to cooperate and exchange scientific knowledge with other academic or research centres in Greece and abroad, to organize seminars, lectures and to forge publications. Since 2015, Director of the Institute of European Integration and Policy is Professor Emmanuella Doussis.
As of March 2019, the Institute hosts the UNESCO Chair on Climate Diplomacy.
As of September 2019, the Institute hosts the Jean Monnet Module 'European Climate Diplomacy' (2019-2022), a project with the support of the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union.
